Random jottings are us!

Just over two weeks until Norway holiday, so waiting for more bits for iPaq ( nav s/ware and charger ).

Still wondering if 'Paxo' is an Oxford graduate as the team from there seemed to get easier supplimentaries. Also wondering why Ms Ashe from Cambridge decided to forego the high necklines for the final! :-)

BTW, the BCA picture is in memory of Caron Keating. I used to watch her on Blue Peter and was saddened to hear of her death, especially as she was two years younger than me!

Current Mood: indescribable indescribable

I was sorry to hear about Caron Keating too. None of us even knew she'd been ill, which was quite strange.

I see the scripts for UC sometimes and they *look* OK, not biased - you can't tell which team are going to get which questions. (But they don't research their questions well enough - the spelling is well dodgy!) I was subtitling next monday's at the weekend - it's a Professionals mini-series thing. British Library vs Crossword Compilers.

Actually, the 'Paxo' comment was due to grumpiness because the team with Rosemary Warner ( an afper ) in it didn't win. :-)

Re: sat nav for ipaq

I was using TomTom on the Psion, but I'm trying Co-Pilot on the iPaq.

Will have to see if it has good coverage of Norway ( May holiday ) and Poland ( visiting for a few hours during my August holiday ).

Note, this is for vehicle navigation only as I would always use a map and compass if fell walking!

Re: sat nav for ipaq

Map and compass can't record your route, measure the distance travelled and at what speed.
Therefore it cannot become a source of those oh so interesting after holiday conversations with non walking friends.
Of course map and compasses tend not to run out of power, but the waterproof container I have for the ipaq is considerably smaller than a map pouch so makes you look rather less like an overburdened pack mule with things hanging off every extremity.
GPS is there to complement maps not replace em
