To ciciaye, hope you had a wonderful birthday ( was going to try and do a first and last comment thing but may not be able to stay awake until 11:59! :-)) )

To everyone, as I'm being picked up for the week on the canal early in the morning, this will probably be the last entry for some time. Have a great time at the Green Man afp meet ( those who are going anyway ) and I'll try and ring in at some point. I may do entries from the boat if I can get the phone / PDA to connect.

( Warning! Rant follows )

To the BBC news teams, especially those in Leicester. You have been plugging a new novel by a bloke who works in Waterstones. About 18 months ago I was there and met a young local author who's first novel is just as good as the first ones by Terry Pratchett and J K Rowling. I can only assume you haven't publicised her novel because you can't find a 'hook' to hang the story on!

( rant over :-) )

Current Mood: pissed off pissed off

Nah I want the sequel to be the best seller. Then the signed FB first edition will be worth £20 000 a la J K R, then I cam take that world trip to give the international afpers the sequel :-)

The Waterstones guy is published by Bloomsbury, who publish JK Rowling, and his book is a kids' book as well, which are probably two reasons why he's being publicised. Oh, and he's got publishers that will get off their arses occasionally...grrrr!
And working in Waterstones can't hurt either...

But it is annoying.
