Wonder what he'd do if there was a real covering of snow like we get here!

( If the Beeb have moved the pictures around it's the one that shows a car sitting in about 1 inch of snow ( at most ) and a comment by the owner that he's probaly going nowhere! )

Current Mood: surprised surprised

Well, he might be in a sheltered area, and know that this much snow at home means that it's a lot worse where he wants to go.

Perhaps his car is like my old Mini, which didn't like the cold...

Or he's just a wuss.

Or perhaps he paid attention to the Road Travel people who all said that as teh main roads in wales were treacherous due to black ice where there isn't snow that people should only travel if they have to.

I wasn't aware at the time just how bad conditions really were round you. I've been caught out by ice myself, having slid into a crash barrier when what appeared to be just a layer of snow on a hill on a dual-carriedgeway main road was actually a thin layer of snow over nicely 'marbled' ice. I was doing about thirty when I just tapped the brakes. The lack of friction on a downhill slope did the rest! Actually I realised after I may have been able to steer the car towards the verge instead of the crash barrier by applying full left lock and putting loads of revs on.

BTW, the way the guys comment may have been edited didn't help.
